We have set out a number of dates for the Monthly Matches. Please note that these are tentative depending on the following:

Severe Weather (thunderstorms etc.) The range had policy with the range insurance and cannot let anyone on the range during a thunderstorm or other violent weather.
Special Events (State Competitions)
ETC...

We will let everyone know ASAP if a match is cancelled or moved. If a match is cancelled your match fee will be refunded or you can use it for the next match. Up to each individual shooter.

The NDPR Monthly matches will start at 10AM.
So we would like everyone to be there by 9:30AM so everyone can get signed in and safety briefed so that we can start putting rounds down range around 10ish.

Then on speed restrictions;
The NDPR monthly matches will be limited to Short Action Non-Magnum only with a muzzle velocity under 3200 FPS.
All will be at the Painted Woods Sporting Complex at this time.

June 15, 2019 Saturday (BORDER WARS Regional)

April looks to be postponed. I would guess due to the water conditions? Any idea on the postponed date?

Correct,

Range is a huge mess. We can’t access the 800-1500 targets due to the stream in between and no section lines.

We will be going back out there tomorrow and I’ll see how the conditions are.

Why not just stop short of the 800y and skip the longer ones set up a few smaller targets with barricades
I was thinking the same thing. I have shot in MN where the entire match was fired from 800 yards and in due to the range simply not having the ability to go further on that given day. The range does go out to 1000+ yards. It was more of a positional match and when there was prone, the targets were simply sized accordingly to the range being shot. An example would be 2 MOA targets off positional and 1 MOA targets when shooting prone. So it would look like a 12" target at 600 yards off a barricade and a 6" target at 600 yards when in prone. 800 yards and in leaves plenty of room for ideal targets that are already sized for that yardage such as most poppers, KYL/TYL racks, spinners, even troop lines and like stated above, position off man made barricades or natural terrain.
This is just my opinion based off of other matches I have shot in other states and by no means is gospel and at the end of the day if it is too muddy, it is simply too muddy, but consider 800 yards and in completely workable.

Range is pretty muddy. We aren’t able to get to anything past 700ish. On the current setup. The range will be set up differently for our future matches. We will probably keep it low speed for the first match. 800 yard max, target sizes will vary from 1-2 MOA.

If you all remember the range was separated by a creek, 500 in was on the shooters side where 600 and out was separated by the creek, if you’re not familiar with the area you have to cross a creek to get to the other targets.

We weren’t concerned on the distance, mostly the fact that even a UTV would have a fun time navigating all the wet slop.

We will be using different barricades, and designating specific tripod stages. Also we will be having kneeling, sitting, standing stages.

There will be build your own position stages, as well as use what we give you to build a position.

Some stages will limit the gear you’re allowed to use, we want shooters not marshmallows out there.

2019 is going to be a riot, oh and did I mention elevated angle positional shooting?

Get ready. It’s going to be fun!

Rain rain and more rain.

I was out checking the range again, it’s pretty squishy, we are going to find a solution even if ranges will be 3-6-8 yards. Stages might be limited but we will figure it out!
